I'm Brennan, and Joy Remodeling is my family's business. Most of what I do is bathrooms, kitchens and floors in Portland, Beaverton, Tigard and Lake Oswego. I'll walk your house, write your estimate and do most of the work myself. When a job needs a plumber or electrician, or I need extra hands to hit your timeline, I bring in subs I trust and manage them myself.

How a project runs
Here's how a job usually goes. You deal with me the whole way.

Walkthrough
I come out, look at the space, and we talk about what you want and what it'll take.

Written estimate
You get the scope and price in writing, broken out line by line so you can compare it to other bids.

The build
We start on the date we agreed on. You'll know who's in your house each day and what's getting done.

Final walkthrough
We walk through the finished work together, and I take care of every punch-list item before I call it done.
Bathrooms, kitchens and flooring first
Bathrooms, kitchens and floors are most of what I do. I also do tile, carpentry, decks and basements, and most jobs end up being a mix of a few, all under one contract.
Bathrooms
Shower and tub surrounds, vanities, lighting and full gut remodels.
Kitchens
Cabinet installs, countertops, backsplashes and layout changes.
Flooring
Luxury vinyl plank, engineered hardwood and tile, with the subfloor prepped first.
Tile Installation
Floors, shower walls and backsplashes, set flat and properly waterproofed.
Custom Carpentry
Built-ins, shelving, window sills, trim and the finish work that makes a room look done.
Decks and Stairs
Composite decking, aluminum railings, stairs and under-deck drainage ceilings.
Basement Conversions
Unfinished space turned into a bedroom, office or family room.

About Joy Remodeling
Love where you live.
I'm Brennan Tigner, the owner of Joy Remodeling, and this is my family's business. I was born in Portland and grew up in Eugene. Today my wife Nicole, our son Malakai and I call the Portland area home, and we have a baby on the way.
I was a professional chef for many years until I found what I really love doing, which is remodeling homes and managing projects for families in my neighborhood. I started Joy Remodeling in 2024 to make my area more beautiful, one home at a time.
I stick to homes because I love working with families. Your house is where your kids grow up and where you come home at the end of the day, so I treat it the way I'd want someone to treat mine.
You should know who's in your house, and you should get straight answers. My favorite part of this work is helping a family finally get the bathroom, kitchen or floors they've been talking about for years.
That's what "Love where you live" means to us. We're raising our family here, and we want yours to love coming home too.
The person at your estimate is the person running your job.
A lot of remodeling companies send a salesperson to the estimate and a crew you've never met to the job. I don't. I scope your project, answer your calls and do most of the hands-on work myself.
Specialty trades like electrical and plumbing go to licensed subcontractors, and sometimes I bring in extra help to keep a job on schedule. I manage everyone who works on your project, so you still have one contract and one person to call, and that's me.

Common questions
Does the estimate cost anything?
No. The walkthrough and written estimate are free, and you are under no obligation to hire us.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Joy Remodeling LLC is a licensed general contractor with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board, CCB #256501, and carries a bond and liability insurance. You can look the license up on the CCB site.
Who actually does the work?
Mostly me. Licensed subs handle specialty trades like electrical and plumbing, and sometimes I bring in help on other parts of a job to keep it on schedule. Either way, I manage everyone on your job.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the current schedule and the size of your project. Your written estimate includes a realistic start date.
