What we build outside
One contract covers the deck surface, the railings and the stairs.
- Composite DeckingLow-maintenance boards and fascia that don't need staining.
- Aluminum RailingsBlack powder-coated rail and balusters on decks, landings and stairs.
- Stairs and LandingsLaid out for even, comfortable steps from the deck to the yard.
- Under-Deck Drainage CeilingsPanels and a gutter under an upper deck, so the space below stays dry.
A dry patio under a second-story deck
Rain falls straight through deck boards. An under-deck ceiling catches it and sends it to a gutter, so the patio and sliding door below stay dry.
On this house, the ceiling went in under a second-story deck with new composite boards and aluminum rail up top.

Common questions
Composite or wood?
Composite costs more up front but doesn't need staining or sealing. Wood costs less to build and needs regular maintenance. I can price both.
Does my deck need a permit?
Many do, depending on height and whether the deck attaches to the house. I'll tell you at the estimate whether yours does.
Can you add an under-deck ceiling to a deck I already have?
Often, yes, if the framing allows it. I'll look at it during the walkthrough.
